Nicaraguan Cuisine

Along with amazing surf tours, La Barra is also best known for its incredible cuisine – our epic meals are always cooked fresh, delivered warm and served in large portions. An assortment of juices, coffee, fruit, cereal, and bread is made readily available by 5:30 every morning, followed by a family style breakfast after the morning surf. Lunches and dinners are prepared with the surfers in mind, high in protein and carbohydrates in order to replenish the energy of those who spent their mornings surfing and are planning to surf again the entire following day!

We serve only the freshest seafood from local fishermen: shrimp, fish, and lobster will be served throughout your stay, along with meats, poultry, and of course local dishes that can’t be found anywhere but Nicaragua.

Alongside meals we provide filtered water, coffee, teas, and juices free of charge; sodas and other beverages can be purchased from the bar. Our chef was trained in El Salvador, so she brings a fusion flare from El Salvador to Nicaragua with amazing taste! You will never go hungry on your surf trip here at La Barra – our Trip Advisor reviews say it all!
